On-Line School Shopping

After enrolling in yet another semester of classes at the Academy of Art (beginning to think a Master’s wasn’t such a great idea) I figured I’d do some school schooling (and dreaming) for myself.
I’ve been searching for a new bag to carry around my HP Mini in and I may have just found exactly what I have been looking for. The images are from Reece Hudson‘s fall look-book shot by Tommy Ton.

Erin Fetherston for Juicy Couture

The young NYC-based designer took a creative consultant role in May, after Juicy founders Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy left their posts.

Now, just a few months after the initial announcement, we have the first look at the pieces that Fetherston has designed. The 11 styles will launch for holiday, and will include a version of the champagne velour gown with draped dolman sleeves that Fetherson wore to the Met Ball (which was not only her first Juicy design, but it coincided with her first official day as Juicy’s creative consultant), as well as accessories.

The initial images look promising – especially the Art Deco-inspired jewelry that will be accompanying the holiday looks

Packing for Vegas

Last night and most of this morning I’ve been packing for my Vegas Vacation. (Which Starts Tomorrow) Over the next week blog post may be few and far between. I plan on spending much of my time in Vegas shopping, relaxing by the pool and sight seeing with Duran. While ripping my closets apart to find the perfect Vegas outfits I have found several articles of clothing that I had purchased for the summer… yet haven’t worn. Last winter I fell in love with silk shorts, floral minis as well as floral print shorts. Purchased at least 10 pair and I have worn a grand total of: ZERO. I guess Ill save them for fall and Pair with tights.

Designer Look for Less

Guilty as Charged. I have an addiction and obsession with the finer things in life. While some don’t understand my love of luxury, I am here to say you should take a look at it through my perspective. Over the past few years I’ve spent $10,000 plus on shoes and bags alone. My philosophy: Price Per Wear.
I’d much rather spend $300 on a pair of Fabulous heels (that I really want) I’m going to wear over and over again for a season or two to come then to pay $59.99/per pair for several pairs that I will wear each iof them once then store in my shoe closet with all the other shoes that are meant to be forgotten…

While I LOVE purchasing Designer Shoes… sometimes they just aren’t relevant to my current budget. Here is one of my favorite trends for the Fall 2010 that won’t consume your entire pay check:

Ruthie Davis Collections

Fall/Winter 2010

I discovered Ruthie Davis’ Shoe Collections in 2008 after seeing one of my favorite celebrity fashionistas sporting them. Each season since has blown me away. But The Fall/Winter 2010 Collection takes the cake. This Collection features everything I’m currently obsessed with: Spikes, Studs… on sky high Heels and Platforms. I believe I need them all... with that being said, I guess that means I'm about to be working several hours over over time!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Last week for my boyfriend’s birthday I surprised him with tickets for to the St. Louis Cardinals vs. Los Angels Dodgers Game Sunday. Although it was extremely hot… we still enjoyed ourselves and some amazing ballpark food. The nachos were amazing. This got me thinking. Since we can’t drive 4hours each week to the game; Why not start having game night one night a week at the house and fix up some extra special ballpark approved treats?

Here are some of my favorites: Pretzels, Nachos, Peanuts, Cracker Jacks and Cotton Candy.

You can pick and choose to your liking. Since I, myself am not a hot dog eater I’m probably going to call-in some boneless wings from Buffalo Wild Wings. Here’s a great recipe for Home-Made Cracker Jacks my mom gave me. For tips and ideas do a simple Yahoo Search for Baseball themed Treats.

Homemade Cracker Jacks

• 10-12 Servings
• Prep: 10 min. Cook: 10 min. + drying
• 10 to 12 cups popped popcorn
• 1 cup pecan halves
• 1 cup slivered almonds
• 1-1/3 cups sugar
• 1 cup butter
• 1/2 cup light corn syrup
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

• In a large bowl, combine popcorn and nuts; set aside. In a large saucepan, bring sugar, butter and corn syrup to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
• Remove from the heat; add vanilla, cream of tartar and baking soda. Drizzle over popcorn mixture; stir to coat. Immediately spread onto two greased baking sheets; let dry for about 1 hour. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 10-12 servings.

To create more of a baseball themed mood wear a great tee or hat to support your favorite team. Victoria’s Secret currently has super cute MLB and Collegiate tees, tanks, hats and sweats to support all of your favorite teams and school!

Back to Black

Must Have for Fall
I have recently fallen inlove with these shoes... and I need them for fall 2010.

Matiko: HALLE

Genius styling meets practicality! The HALLE cuffed wedge bootie, by MATIKO, is as functional as it is fashionable. The black suede 4" wedge with 1" front platform is highlighted with a fold down cuff detail at the ankle accented with gold flat nail-head studs covering the entirety of the suede cuff. The perfect shaped toe, and flattering angle of the ankle opening make this boot a girl's dream! Perfect for pairing with tights or layers, let this studded staple serve as a true shoe accessory
