A Closer Look at Kate’s Dress

Kate Middleton looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress. A long-sleeved lace and ivory satin design by Sarah Burton, the creative director for the late Alexander McQueen.

Kate's dress has lace appliques hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework and also has hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace detailing. The body of the dress is ivory and white satin gazar. (While watching the wedding one of the news broadcasters said that the needles used to sew the gown were changed every three hours to make sure they were kept sharp.) The train is 70 centimeters long. (Modest compared to the late Princess Diana's gown.) Her diamond earrings are by Robinson Pelham. As for the Tiara, it was something borrowed..and something (very) old from the Queen herself.
