D.I.Y: A Laced Halloween

Dressing up sexy aka skanky isn't really my forte. I think I will be opting for a chic look this Halloween. For a few years now I've lusted over the Maison Michel laced ears... I think it's finally time to D.I.Y them!

A New Classic: The Leather Dress

I'm all for building a wardrobe full of "classics" but this season I can't seem to stop buying all things leather. Real and Faux. From pants, jackets, skirts to dresses. Yes, the leather dress has become an essential! Especially when it's in a classic sheath style (like the one shown at the right above). After shopping around both online and in stores... I made my first leather dress purchase at New York and Company for around $80. Sadly, the dress sold out fast. But after some searching I found you as well as myself a few more fabulous options. Check HERE and HERE

Krazy about Karl

(via net-a-porter)
I am absolutely obsessed with the Karl Collection by Karl Largerfeld for Net-A-Porter. This week I'm finally upgrading my iPhone to a 4S which means I can purchase the Karl iPhone case I've been lusting over.

The Cheap yet Chic Find: The Studded Belt

(photos via zara/net-a-porter)
For those of you that has been lusting over the MIU MIU Studded Leather Skinny Belt (myself included)... I found the perfect look for less: the Zara Studded Stretch Belt. This belt is VERY similar and quite a bit more edgy... which I LOVE. Plus it's $270.10 less than the MIU MIU version.

Street Stalker: Chiara Ferragni

Like thousands of other fashionistas I log on daily to see Chiara's latest looks. I can't believe I've been following her for three years.

Cheap yet Chic Finds: Comic Relief

If you are obsessed with the "comic" trend as much as I am... you will love my latest Cheap yet Chic Finds...

First Look: The Maison Martin Margiela for H&M Look Book

Warm Presents for a Cool Style

Don’t be a last-minute Xmas shopper – if you are still thinking that the festive season is a long way ahead, take a look at the calendar!  High street shops are brimming with Xmas colour and decorations, and the wise shopper is starting to plan their present-giving for their nearest and dearest.  They’ll be over the moon with a gift of a stylish winter jumper from Next, so check out their top winter warmers for all your presents.

For your favourite man, how about a cool cardigan from the Next collection?  Their shawl-collared fair isle cardigan comes in rust or grey with self-coloured buttons, and will provide a cosy cover-up for the chillier days ahead
If he’s not a cardigan man, then how about a chunky jacket or jumper?  There’s a great cable-knit roll-neck in the traditional seafarers colour of navy blue, or a thick-knit crew-neck jumper in a choice of autumnal colours – maroon, rust or grey
For a street-smart sister or friend, go for the latest in jackets. Next have a quilted blazer (pictured) in a soft grey which will look great as either leisure or workwear.  Worn with a pair of boot-cut jeans and cowboy strapped leather boots or with a tailored and demure jersey dress, it will add style and up-to-the-minute fashion.

And for that work colleague who just loves colour and style, they’ll be your friend for life if you surprise them with the Get the Look Tartan cape.  Deeply fringed, with practical toggles and a deep collar, they will be as warm as toast, and the proudest fashionista in the office!
After all that present shopping for others, it’s time to treat yourself.  A G-star chunky-knit jumper in seasonal holly-red, with a deep roll-neck and thigh-skimming hem might be just the thing for those cooler days.  Or cheer yourself up with an outrageously pink Cheap Monday textured knitted crew-neck jumper that will have heads turning.  And whilst you’re about it … team it with a pair of skin-tight pink jeans to complete the look.

(pictured amber williams chapman on the left and alicia boswell on the right)
Friday night at Model Behavior featuring Christian Siriano and his SS2013 RTW Collection I noticed this lovely lady's amazing spiked heels. I immediately asked where they were from and if I could photograph her for my blog. I loved everything about Amber's outfit and her vintage bag coordinated perfectly with her Privileged "Hetty" Heels. You can buy them HERE. You can also buy a shirt similar to her's HERE.

Dreamy Evening Dresses

What do you picture when you think of your perfect evening dress?  Lots of sequins, sweeping skirts, the paparazzi snapping Hollywood film stars as they step onto the red carpet at a film premiere? Perhaps a chic little black dress with discreet embellishments?
Well, fashion trends for the autumn of 2012 have all of that and much, much more!  Starting with the little black dress, Geri Halliwell’s collection for Next has some great twists on that timeless classic amongst evening dresses.   Add sequins, a daring above-the-knee hemline, a plunging d├ęcolletage below a see-through tucker, and you have a wonderfully eye-catching variation on the theme.  Or her black one-sleeve embellished dress, with a bodice and neckline cut on the diagonal, and a flowing sleeve, for real originality.

Sequins and glitter are all over the most glamorous designs for evening wear, and new fabrics have seen the fashion catwalks sparkling with metallic golds, silvers and purples.  If you’re feeling adventurous, then you might take a leaf out of the Paris autumn collections, and go for a deep autumnal orange floor-length evening dress with a strappy bodice and matching evening coat. Perhaps you might go for a gleaming metallic purple slinky fishtailed gown, cut low at the neckline, with crossover straps to embellish an otherwise plain bodice. Look out for these on the high street, as the transition from catwalk to fashion store tends to be lightning fast these days.
All women love lace, and there are some fabulously feminine versions of lace evening dresses amongst the collections for autumn and winter.  Amy Childs’ collection is a great example of how to team the softest dove grey or black lace with palest pink to create a vintage-inspired knee-length pencil dress that’s the ultimate in desirability.
And when picturing your next purchase for that special dinner-dance or formal do, remember to plan for how you will accessorise your glamorous gown.  Celebs are choosing little clutch bags spangled with sequins, or decorated with outrageously blowsy silk flowers to match the colours of their dress, while jewellery is kept creative but simple.  Thick twists of silver rope necklace look fantastic with the latest metallic evening dresses, or long jet bead necklaces over demure lace gowns

Leather Inspo

In recent weeks I've been purchasing every piece of leather I can find... in the last two weeks I've added at least 9 new pieces to my wardrobe: dresses, skirts, jackets and multiple pairs of pants. Now I have to figure out how to style them so I don;t look like a lost member of a biker gang...
